Slow Cooker Maple Apple Sage Pork
3-pound pork shoulder (or preferred pork roast)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
4 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped (divided use)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Add in the last 15-30 minutes of cooking:
2 golden delicious apples, thinly sliced
Place pork roast in the slow cooker and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and two tablespoons fresh sage (or 2 teaspoons dried sage).
In a small bowl combine the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and mustard. Pour over the pork.
Cook on HIGH for 5-6+ hours, LOW for 8-10 hours.
15-30 minutes before finishing, add apple slices along the sides to soften.
Remove pork from slow cooker. Spoon out the sauce to use.
To serve, shred the pork, serve with apples and sauce, top with remaining chopped fresh
Serves 6-8.
